Brandon Okumura is an Asian American film director based in Los Angeles. A champion of minority and LGBTQ+ representation in front of and behind the camera, Brandon specializes in directing comedies about mental health, relationships, and the absurdities of daily life through a BIPOC lens.
His short film, THREE LADIES & A FAKE ID, is an official selection at the 2025 Austin Film Festival. His other film, MANEKI, was an official selection at the 2022 Austin Film Festival, Outfest Fusion, and the San Diego Asian Film Festival. In 2018, Brandon founded Okie Media, a creative video production company, and has since produced multiple film projects with clients such as Riot Games, Sony Pictures, NBC News, Netflix, UC Davis, Quicken, and the San Francisco Bay Ferry.
In his free time, Brandon enjoys swimming in the ocean, rock climbing, and eating at new restaurants.
